Auberle, a faith-based nonprofit in McKeesport that serves individuals and families across Western Pennsylvania, was awarded the Mutual of America Foundation Community Partnership Award this week. Representatives from Auberle were invited to Mutual of America’s headquarters in New York City on Wednesday to receive the prestigious Award, which recognizes Auberle’s Employment Institute’s partnership with UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.
This national award recognizes organizations for their outstanding contributions to society in partnership with public, private and other social sector organizations.
This is the first time in 25 years that a Pittsburgh organization has received this award.
The event marks the 28th anniversary of this prestigious national award competition. The six organizations being honored for their commitment to providing innovative solutions to help those in need are:
Lisa M. Loughry, Mutual of America Foundation Chair, recognized the partnership. "The 2023 Community Partnership Award-winning programs offer creative and effective solutions that address persistent social, emotional and physical issues affecting individuals and families in their communities across the country," said Loughry.

Auberle’s Employment Institute prepares the unemployed and underemployed with an opportunity to change the trajectory of their lives (and their family’s lives) by connecting them with career level jobs with benefits – all while wrapping them in Auberle’s vast array of holistic services to ensure their long-term success. And the program has achieved high levels of success - 90% of participants are hired within two weeks of graduation and 83% are with the same employer for six months or more.
