Ashley Pesi Recognized for Outstanding Work in Social Work Field

Auberle’s Northside Employment Institute Project Manager, Ashley Pesi, is being honored at the 2022 Social Worker Appreciation of Greatness (SWAG) Awards in recognition of her servant leadership and dedication to social work.

“Social work was my life calling that I was blessed enough to recognize. I am thankful that the work that I do every single day is to make a difference,” shares Pesi.

Pesi clearly demonstrates a passion for the work she does and is deeply committed to the people she serves on the Northside of Pittsburgh and beyond. Beginning as a case coordinator intern at Auberle six years ago, Pesi’s dedication and leadership were evident. Her hard work allowed her to be promoted from a case manager with the Employment Institute to currently serve as a project manager where she continues to impact the lives of many. For the last three years, Pesi’s leadership at the Northside Employment Institute has helped the program grow and serve the community successfully.

Embodying what it means to be a helping professional, Pesi is committed to servant leadership in the field and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Instructional Management and Leadership at Robert Morris University where her dissertation will examine how to bridge gaps in social services to better serve communities.

Auberle is proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor with Pesi as she continues to be a transformational leader on the team and advocate for those we serve. Her hard work, creativity, perseverance, and kindness set her apart as a champion in the social work field.

The SWAG awards were founded by Sherice Nance, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in March 2019 intending to recognize the important work of social workers in the Pittsburgh region who, “exemplify servant leadership through their commitment to promoting advocacy, social justice, generational healing and building stronger communities,” as stated on their website.

Congratulations, Ashley!
