Celebrating their 50th Anniversary the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Community Services Institute teamed up with Auberle

On Thursday July 23, 2009 Auberle was honored to dedicate their new picnic pavilion that was a collaboration of efforts.  The Greater PA Carpenter’s Organization donated their services to build the pavilion with our students with materials that were purchased with money raised by dedicated volunteers.  The dedication included AFL-CIO National Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker, PA AFL-CIO President Bill George and Allegheny County Labor Council, AFL-CIO President Jack Shea, Greater PA Regional Council of Carpenters Executive Secretary/Treasurer Jack Brooks, AFL-CIO Community Liaison Joe Delale and nearly 100 union members. PA AFL-CIO Chaplin Father Jack O’Malley blessed the new pavilion.

After the dedication, Auberle was privileged to help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Community Services Institute at Auberle’s 23rd Annual Festival of Fun.  Over 170 children from several agencies in Allegheny County enjoyed carnival type games, races, food and the opportunity to meet Steely McBeam and Eat n’ Park’s Smiley.
