Make A Difference Auberle Bingo

BINGO! The word everyone attending the Sixth Annual “Make a Difference” Auberle bingo wanted to say.  Sally Wiggin, WTAE news anchor, was the celebrity guest caller.  The bingo was once more financially successful with almost 200 people in attendance.

The Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank also benefited from the bingo.  Bingo players were asked to bring a nonperishable food item.  There were 17 cases of food collected for this effort.

A number of Auberle boy residents were hosts for the event.  They were kept busy attending to the players’ needs for food, drink, bingo card specials, etc.  Several people attending remarked on how courteous and considerate each of the residents were.

The annual bingo is the only fundraising event sponsored by the volunteers.  Marcy Cendroski and Judy Kinlough chaired the annual event, with the help of their bingo committee.  Many volunteers lent a hand in some capacity to make this event such a success.  Several area businesses, cultural centers, sports teams and individuals donated items such as goods, passes to events and gift certificates.  Judy Kinlough beautifully crafted Chinese Auction baskets, which included items donated by volunteers.  Attendees could also purchase wonderful homemade baked goods to satisfy their sweet tooth.  This area was popular all day, with items being sold before they reached the sale table.  The variety and success of this event would not be possible with out the support and effort made by so many.

The 2009 bingo is scheduled for Saturday October 24th.   Contact Peggy Frye (412) 673-5856 x 1257 or Marcy Cendroski (412)-673-6812 for additional information closer to that date.
